Participants' comments:
I thought the carolling was a great idea. There are many senior citizens and people who may have a hard time leaving their homes in our community. I think it was a nice idea for the children to go to them. It was a lot easier for them to watch the children sing when the children went to their homes instead of the elders having to come up to the school.

We went carolling and we sang Jingle Bells in English and Mi'kmaq, We Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Away in a Manger, Silent Night in English and Mi'kmaq and after we came back we ate cookies and we had hot chocolate. We had a wonderful time singing that day.

Christmas carolling in Wagmatcook was a first for me - not just in Wagmatcook, but a real first. I had never participated in carolling before.
It didn't matter how cold or how slippery it was. What a wonderful experience! The children sang as happily as possible. Everywhere we went people invited us in, braved the cold to listen, and even had treats for us. The Christmas spirit was catching!
The grade four students each wrote a sentence describing their thoughts of the day.
